On October 29th, ASAS-Chicago will host a citywide high school exploration event with over 300 students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade as well as their families. The goal of Passport to Success is for students to learn about CPS high school choices, the search and application process, and setting goals to attend the best fit high school for them.

Passport to Success has four major components with workshops led by CPS counselors:

1. Attend a High School Fair run by CPS departments and partners including Selective Enrollment, International Baccalaureate, Illinois Network of Charter Schools, Service Leadership Academy Network, Career and Technical Education, WE, LINK Unlimited and After School Matters to gain a better understanding of high school options. Students will also learn about high school scholarship opportunities.

2. Engage in an admissions requirement workshop about school requirements to ensure students know if they meet the application criteria before applying.

3. Participate in an application workshop with the ultimate goal of completing an application during the workshop.

4. Participate in a goal setting workshop for 6th and 7th graders where they will set SMART goals to attend the best school for them.
